Supporting Local Research
Plymouth and Cornwall Cancer Funds supports local small research projects related to improving treatment and support of people with cancer since 1986.
In 1995 PCCF made a capital investment of £88,000 towards the Clinical Trials Unit in the new Oncology Department at Derriford Hospital. Since then small projects have been funded such funding £8000 to support a medical engineering graduate to undertake a research project for Malignant Melanoma in 2002 – 2003.
The PCCF is always looking for small research projects from Health Professionals to support. Outline proposals and costs should be submitted to the PCCF Committee together with a letter of support from the Clinical and Research Leads of the Organisation.
